World Bank Trust Funds
National Multi Donor Trust Fund for North Sudan (MDTF NS)
The objective of the trust fund is to provide a vehicle for Donors to pool resources and coordinate support to fund the overall reconstruction and development needs of Sudan during the interim period. The focus will be on recovery and long term development activities to support Sudan's reaching of the Millennium Developement Goals.

The Grant for the Technical Assistance Facility (TAF), funded by the MDTF-Nation al, aims at supporting the Government of National Unity and state governments to strengthen their professional and technical capacities for formulation of polic ies, programs, and projects derived form the JAM Framework for Sustained Peace, Development, and Poverty Eradication. The Grant supports preparation and supervision of studies which could lead to pr ojects primarily in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, agriculture/ rural development, and community-driven reconstruction and development. It also supports preparation of sector policies, strategies and plans and the preparati on of feasibility studies and detailed engineering for investment projects. Finally the Grant will finance training aimed at capacity building in federal an d state ministries, and in government agencies.

This number is an average number of days open for seven category B schools under the project since the remaining seven were closedor canceled due to the ongoing conflict. The average number of school days open is 149.6 for 7 of the schools, one of which wasclosed for most of the year due to teacher retention issues. If we removed this outlier, the number of school days category Bschools would be open would be 159.3 school days, which is an increase of 29% from baseline.
